RYI's close friend and highly respected colleague, Horst Koch, played a central role in the development and launch of RYI's Online Learning program in 2009 and was a mainstay of IT support across the whole institution. Sadly, Horst, passed away in Nepal during the fall of 2011. Horst was passionate about RYI's potential to offer precious Dharma teachings to all those with a sincere interest and in memoriam, RYI has established a scholarship in his name to allow one student each semester to study a semester-long online course free of charge.
The award covers 100% of the tuition fee for one semester-long online learning course each semester and is intended for those who would not normally be able to afford to take such a course.
RYI’s scholarship policies require applicants for this award to have completed registration and payment for their chosen online course before submitting an application for the award. Upon the scholarship committee’s decision, the award recipient will receive a full refund of the course fee.
Eligibility: who can apply?
In order to apply for the Horst Koch Memorial Scholarship, a student must:
- Apply for the scholarship only after he or she has registered for the interactive online learning course of interest.
- Demonstrate why he or she is unable to afford to take the course.
To apply, please complete and submit the online application form here.
