Ms. Joosten received her M.A. Conflict Transformation and NGO management from the SIT Graduate Institute in 2007. A trained mediator and dialogue facilitator, she worked with SIT’s Youth Peacebuilding and Leadership Programs from 2005 – 2009. Ms. Joosten has designed and directed cross-cultural educational programs for U.S. study abroad organizations in South Asia since 2006, and joined RYI’s staff to direct their summer program in 2010. She joined the faculty in the fall of 2010 designing and instructing “Buddhism and Development” which combines history, development theory, and study of the ethics of development.
Currently, Ms. Joosten directs RYI’s Online Learning initiative creating opportunities for students all over the world to interact with RYI’s unique course offerings.
